Financial Mentoring for New and Aspiring Heads of School

Led by IES Consultant Mike Waylett, this personalized, one-on-one mentoring program supports new and aspiring Heads of School in developing the financial fluency essential to effective leadership. Through eight to ten focused video conference sessions, participants gain practical insight into independent school finance, strengthen decision-making skills, and build the confidence needed to lead with clarity and purpose.

With over 40 years of leadership experience in independent schools, including senior administrative and Head of School roles, Mike brings a deep, practical understanding of the financial and operational challenges that school leaders face. Over the past several years, he has mentored dozens of new and emerging Heads, providing thoughtful, real-world guidance tailored to each leader’s unique context and goals.
