PETER J. GILLIN

Mr. Peter J. Gillin is a former Managing Director at Diversified Search Group where he worked in the Education and Social Impact Practices. He recently joined IES as a Senior Partner. Pete’s consulting experience includes nonprofit and independent school leadership searches, succession planning, and board consulting. He has served on school accrediting committees, led workshops on succession planning and the search process for State Associations and is referenced in the NAIS Head Search Handbook around recruiting for diversity.
Prior to joining Diversified Search, Pete was a senior consultant for the Princeton, New Jersey-based Wickenden Associates. At Wickenden Associates, Pete recruited and placed leaders in secondary schools across the country.
Pete began his career at the Episcopal High School of Virginia, where he served in various roles, including as a teacher in the Department of English, dormitory head, and coach (lacrosse, soccer, squash). Later, he was part of the senior administrative team at the Pomfret School in Connecticut, where his titles included dean of students and director of residential life. He also taught American and British literature, and coached lacrosse and squash.
Pete serves as Founding President of the Tecumseh Alumni Association, is a substitute middle
school teacher at his alma mater, The Haverford School, is a certified lacrosse referee, and a former volunteer firefighter.
Pete received his BA in English and History from the University of Virginia (UVA). He earned his MEd in Leadership and Supervision from UVA.
